UPSC CAPF (Assistant Commandant) Exam Syllabus & Selection Pattern
The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Assistant Commandant (AC) examination is conducted by UPSC. It is an integrated defense and administrative recruitment portal.
1. Selection Process Stages
- Stage I: Written Exam (Paper I: General Ability & Intelligence | Paper II: General Studies, Essay & Comprehension).
- Stage II: Physical Standards / Physical Efficiency Tests (PET).
- Stage III: Personality Test (Interview) – 150 Marks.
2. Written Exam Structure
CAPF Paper II (Descriptive) tests essay writing and comprehension — practice writing 200-word essays on current security issues regularly.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Requirements
Candidates clearing the written cutoffs must pass the mandatory physical test. PET requirements for CAPF AC are:
- Male Candidates: 100m race in 16 seconds, 800m race in 3 min 45 sec, Long Jump of 3.5 meters, Shot Put (7.26 kg) of 4.5 meters.
- Female Candidates: 100m race in 18 seconds, 800m race in 4 min 45 sec, Long Jump of 3.0 meters.
